Ariane Roy

Ariane Roy, sacrée Révélation Radio-Canada 2021-2022, est une jeune autrice-compositrice-interprète de la ville de Québec. Elle chante et joue de la guitare sur une musique pop alternative. Elle écrit sur la vingtaine, la sienne et celle des femmes qui l’entourent, sur des mots à la fois doux et cassants. Elle mise sur les contrastes et la spontanéité autant dans ses chansons que sur scène. Ariane Roy, crowned Révélation Radio-Canada 2021-2022, is a young singer-songwriter from Quebec City. She sings and plays the guitar to an alternative pop beat. She writes about her twenties and the women that surround her, in words that are both sweet and brittle. She relies on spontaneity and contrasts, both in her songs and on stage while performing. In March 2020, the artist independently released her first EP - Avalanche (n.f) and won a nomination in the EP Pop category at the alternative Gala of Independent music of Québec (GAMIQ). In october 2020, the finalist for Francouvertes 2020 unveils her song Ta main, accompanied by a first music video directed by Adrian Villagomez. This video won her the Jury Prize during the first music video tournament of the Rendez-vous Québec Cinema. In 2021, she wins the Slaight Music Emerging Songwriter Award. Ta Main, which also allowed her to be a finalist at the SOCAN Song Award, as well as her most recent single Je Me Réveille , are both a prelude for her first official album release, due in early 2022 under the label La maison fauve.
